Inspired World of Alberto Giacometti

I came to know Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) through his elongated figures, which from a distance appear thin and fragile. I believe that these figures represent the existential loneliness and fragility of modern human. Giacometti's works are closely linked to his own struggles in depicting the human form and his reflections on the meaning of human existence. His paintings and sculptures allow me to see an artist's search for his own voice and his work supports me in my own working process.

Giacometti's works invite the viewer to empathize with the emotional state of the figures. The loneliness and fragility of the figures lead the viewer to their own existential questioning, which is one of the main points that inspire me.

The sculpture "Spoon Woman" depicts a female figure holding a spoon. Her face is abstracted and expressionless, making her emotions mysterious. The thin and long body of the sculpture emphasizes the weakness and fragility of the figure. This sculpture invites the viewer to contemplate the figure's emotional state and inner world.

Another point that impresses me is that his figures focus on space and movement, unlike traditional sculpture, and as a result encourage the viewer to rethink the perception of form and volume.

The sculpture "Walking Man I" depicts a thin and elongated figure moving through space. The surface of the sculpture is rough and uneven, giving the figure a fragile and vulnerable air. The figure's slender legs and stooped posture emphasize the figure's struggle for balance. This sculpture invites the viewer to contemplate the existence of the figure and its progression through the void.

Inspired by Giacometti's works, in my paintings I aim to reflect the existential loneliness and fragility of modern human, who has almost forgotten the feeling of being in the moment. By using the concepts of emptiness and movement, I want to encourage the viewer to question the perception of form and volume. By going to abstraction in figures and forms, I want to mystify emotions and direct the viewer to their own existential questioning and to experience the concept of being lost in the flow.

Alberto Giacometti's works have had and continue to have a profound influence on my artistic perspective and creative process. His works encourage me to express myself, to draw attention to problems in society and to interact with the audience.

I have been influenced by all of this and i turned my scrap papers into paper mache and made the work on the below inspired by the works of Van Gogh/Starry Night and Alberto Giacometti/Walking Man.
